Llu s Llach i Grande (Catalan pronunciation: [ u’iz ‘ ak]; born 7 May 1948) is a Spanish singer-songwriter and novelist from Catalonia. He is one of the main representatives of the nova can genre and an outspoken advocate of the right to self-determination of Catalonia. His most famous song, “L’Estaca”, has become the unofficial anthem of the Catalan independence movement.[citation needed] He was a member of the Catalan Parliament from September 2015 until January 2018.
